Trouble shooting CropX sensor

Type: CropX soil moisture sensor 

Before installation in the field NEC can install the sensor and scan the QR at the office to verify there is communication. If all is OK the sensor needs to be deleted from the account again. When communicating with Dacom about an issue with a station for the first time, the number and location (country and GPS coordinates) should be provided.

More than one sensor suddenly stopped sending data.

A general problem with the back end of Dacom or CropX

Dacom or CropX will solve the problems ASAP.

 

A general problem with the mobile operator

Dacom / CropX will report the issue to the concerning provider

 

Dacom will report the answer of Orange to NEC and discuss the follow-up with NEC.

The sensor is not transmitting data

Antenna is damaged or the sensor is damaged

Antenna / sensor has to be replaced

 

Order a new antenna/sensor at Dacom/CropX

The sensor is not transmitting data and the antenna is not damaged.

Run diagnostic test from the CropX app to find the cause

Push notification is ‘Sensor is now ready’. See attachment III.

From Diagnostic test the notification is ‘Check the sensor’s antenna’.

The connection of the sensor’s antenna is not sufficient enough.

Disconnect the antenna and then re-attach it tight. Run Diagnostics again. Use the extension cable to raise the antenna. Run Diagnostics again.

Sensor is still not transmitting after checking antenna and run diagnostics.

Sensor is not ready

​​​​​​​Charge the sensor for 1 minute to force a sensor transmission and Run diagnostics again. See attachment III.

From Diagnostic test the notification is Battery status Weak

​​​​​​​Charge the batteries, see attachment IV.

Sensor is still not transmitting after checking antenna, run diagnostics and forcing a sensor transmission.

Cause unknown

​​​​​​​Dacom/CropX will check all settings and decide how to proceed.
